Mercedes Cordova-Hakim, our Early Childhood & School Readiness Program Manager, has been selected as the 2016 Libin Egal Spirit Award winner by Open Arms!
The announcement follows:
“A skilled champion of diversity and community self-determination who has worked for over 30 years with multi-ethnic and multi-lingual communities in Mexico, California, King County, and Washington State.
A passionate community organizer, educator, and advocate for marginalized communities who makes a difference in the lives of children and families.
As the SOAR Early Learning Program Manager, she has overseen multiple community-driven outreach and education projects that resulted in engaging over 50,000 families with young children, and trained over 500 community promotores.”
