Join an Action Team

SOAR Action Teams work on a variety of areas that further the goals of our Action Agendas.  Action Teams focus on early childhood or on school-age children and youth.  If you would like to join an Action Team, please see the page of early childhood action teams or the page of school age action teams for more information on each team as well as contact information for a representative of each team.

Join the Partnership Council or Coordinating Committee

SOAR’s leadership consists of a governing body of stakeholders and representatives from a wide variety of sectors engaged in helping children and youth succeed.  This structure includes our Partnership Council, which meets quarterly to set the strategic direction for SOAR, and our Coordinating Committee, a smaller subset of the Partnership Council that meets monthly to oversee the work of SOAR on a more detailed basis.  You can find more information on the Partnership Council and Coordinating Committee here.

Help raise awareness about SOAR/the Action Agendas

Action Agendas are workable tools for the community to use.  The more communities, agencies, groups and entities are aware of the Action Agendas, the more useful they will be.  SOAR seeks partners to help spread the word about the Action Agendas via presentations, information sharing, distributing copies, or other means.  We welcome your ideas and assistance.

Take on a “recommended action” item from the Action Agenda for School-Age Children and Youth – make it happen in your community or agency!

The Action Agenda for School-Age Children and Youth is designed to include community-generated ideas for different sectors to take on to improve the lives of children and youth.  These “recommended actions” are concrete tools for helping children and youth succeed, and included suggestions for which sectors may play a role.
